What I love about working in pastel is that I can work ‘in the field’ and obtain immediate results.  Living on the Ards Peninsula, I don’t have to travel far for inspiration and have always had a passion for working outdoors.  Pastels are sticks of almost pure pigment, and they can be blended for soft effects, but can also produce hard lines for definition.  I carry a range of about 200  "Unison" pastels which I apply directly onto canson paper or board.
